A brochure in the front office states, "A career for you in Scouting begins at Brigham Young University." With that simple statement a whole new career path is introduced. Imagine going to college and earning a bachelors degree in Scouting Education.

Capitol Campaigns - A Roadmap To Success

You know the needs.  The dining hall is too small, water service to existing campsites is faulty, shower houses don’t meet current standards, a swimming pool needs major repair or replacement, and older Scouts need more high adventure challenges.  The service center is no longer convenient to Scouts and volunteers. What was once conference and training space has been cannibalized for offices and storage.

Knowing Your Donors

I was talking to a chief development officer and had asked about why the staff didn’t do more donor cultivation. The annual fund was sound, a foundation of solid financial donors, but everyone seemed to remain static at the same annual giving level.

A review of some other organizations in the community showed they had many of the same donors, and often the donors where recognized as higher-level donors with others than with the chief development officer.

Fred Davison Dies - Georgia-Carolina Council President

Right behind his faith and family, Dr. Davison’s passions were the University of Georgia and the Boy Scouts of America. His legacy with the Georgia-Carolina Council will be the development of Knox Scout Reservation, a Council-wide initiative to bring Scouting into churches throughout the Council and his love of all the good that Scouting represents and teaches.
