Jamboree Blog - #2 / Tue.
Written by Jaime Rodriguez

On Tuesday the national Jamboree was closed to outside visitors including members of the press. After an initial press conference early in the morning, we were all asked to leave as a way of allowing scouts and scouters to have a day without reporters.

Several news outlets interviewed patch traders, who are set up outside the Jamboree (& A.P Hill) area. If you saw one of these un-official spokespeople then you may have been confused or miss-led by their commentary.

For accurate information read news articles, which quote Gregg Shields or  Renee Fairrer. Gregg works for Edelman, the PR firm who represents the Boy Scouts of America. He is the official spokesperson for the BSA.

We will also update our website with the most accurate information as it arrives.

The most up-to-date information will always appear at www.bsajamboree.org

Written by Jaime Rodriguez
On this first Monday of the 2005 National Jamboree our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are and were affected by today's tragedy. We will start daily blogs from the Jambo tomorrow. Tonight we will remain reverently silent. Jaime Rodriguez Editor-in-Chief American Scouting Digest
